Researcher, archaeologist
I am an
archaeologist living in
Helsinki,
Finland. I
work as a researcher at the
University of Helsinki, Dept.
of Archaeology, preparing
a PhD thesis on the Stone Age rock paintings of
Finland (ca. 4000-2000 BC). I am also closely involved
with the Finnish excavations in
Petra,
Jordan
(FJHP or Finnish Jabal Haroun Project).
Since 1998, we have been excavating a Byzantine monastery and pilgrimage
complex (5th-9th centuries AD) on top of the mountain
Jabal an-Nabi Haroun and performing intensive survey in its immediate
surroundings. For more career-related information, see my
curriculum vitae (only
in Finnish).
I have collected here some resources mostly related to
rock art studies. Much of the material is in Finnish even though this page,
for the sake of convenience, is in English.
HUOM! Helsingin seudun
kesäyliopiston "Esihistoriallinen kalliotaide"-luentosarjan luentojen
