The Neckbreakers is a folk music group from Helsinki, Finland playing music from Finland and from the other Nordic countries. The group was founded in 1973 by Åke Grandell. Master fiddler Ricke Mette is our leader ensuring the musical quality. The group consists of 14 players.

Our repertoire is composed of traditional tunes from the Nordic countries and compositions of our own: inter alia waltz, schottish, mazurka, polka, folk songs, and hambo (we are experts on playing hambo).

Often we perform folk dances in co-operation with Haga youth society (HUF - Haga ungdomsförening). Small groups of dancers - anything from childrens' groups to so called "Stone Agers" - perform the dances in colourful traditional costumes accompanied by folk tunes, e.g. minuets and polskas.

We tailor our cheerful performances in accordance to the wishes of the arranging party. Please, contact Ricke Mette.
