The layout work has continued with finishing the landscaping in the small yard
area. Here are a few pictures taken in different phases of this work.

| The first step was to lay down some plaster where needed. This is how
it looked like. |
The next step was painting with undercoat colors. The road has been
painted with Woodland Scenics concrete road color. The tracks were
covered with some masking tape. |
 |
 |
| After that, different kinds of turf, sand and track ballast were applied, and
buildings were put back into their places. And second layer of the
concrete color was applied on the road. |
The landscape got its final form after many trees and bushes had been
planted, fences installed, etc. This is how it looks like now. |
 |
 |
| And the same from the opposite side. |
And then a set of pictures how the rock face on the bridge ramp was formed.
First the plaster layer was covered with a special brown mass giving it more
rock like appearance. |
 |
 |
| Then the brown mass was painted with two shades of grey, giving the rock the
color I wanted. Black wash was applied on the paint, and some white color
was dry-brushed on the highest points. Finally everything was sprayed with
some matte medium. After that some coarse turf and foliage was applied here
and there, to give it the final touch. |
And this is how it looks now after some pine and fir trees were
planted in front, and fences were put in place. These trees from Noch are
not the most realistic ones, but they will do for now. |
 |
 |
| And then couple of other details. The fence which you can see around
the power plant and along the track is self made from wire-mesh and matches,
painted with the desired color of course. Inspiration to do it this way I
got from Per's homepage, tips & tricks section. Very nice. |
A row of pine trees was planted behind the loco shed. They are long
enough so they come through nicely over the roof. Some of the trees at
the front of the picture are still standing loose. I won't fix them before
I get the Viessmann signals which I have ordered, and know exactly where they
will be installed. One of the signals will come here to guard the track
which comes behind the loco shed and joins the other tracks from the yard. |
 |
 |
| There are also some dummy light posts from Faller at the yard. I may
put in some real lights some day, but not yet. And by the way, it is the
camera which is not standing straight, not the lamp posts... |
