The next step in my layout building was to install lights. Here are a few pictures taken
during that work.

| Here are some of the lights which were
installed. There were altogether 40 street or railroad lights and
about 30 light bulbs for the buildings. |
In many cases I needed to add self-made
masks into the buildings to allow for the illumination. Like in this
signal tower. The first floor had a mask, but the upper floor didn't,
so I added one. |

Faller microbulbs. |
This is how the station and the platform
area looks like. Here you can also see the signal tower with both
floors lit. The lights in the upper floor can be controlled on and off
independently. |

 |
| Also in this other signal tower the lights
in the upper and lower floor can be controlled independently from each
other. |
Here is the power plant and the yard area in
evening lights. |

These Viessmann lights give the yard a great
deal of realism, although it may not be that visible in this photo due to
the light coming through the window at the background. |
 |
 |
| The church is lit from the opposite side of
the street with a small flood light beam. |
And here is one of the houses in the
village. |
 |
 |
| And the farm house in the woods. |
This is how the "spaghetti" looks like under
the baseboard. The lights are divided into two separate circuits, both
supplied from a standard Märklin 32VA trafo. The overall intensity can
be adjusted with the speed knobs. The three Viessmann 5213 switching
units allow to control the lights on and off from the PC. |
