WAKER II (Original name WAKER 15/08/2001) New instructions 14/7/2008 1. Settings Locations contain a large list of places in the world. The greatest part of them has been made as a hobby by Juha Tarkiainen, to whom the author is very grateful. If a location is not in the list, it may be added to the file 'Positiot.txt', either among the places of a country or at the end in the section 'Own Saves'. The model used in the file should be rigorously followed. The settings are mainly intended for the program 'Maestro', but are also needed to define f.ex. the moon image on the main program form. The program may be converted to 'portable'. Then all the help files and esdpecially the alarm file 'Waker.txt' are in the same directory as the main program. Clicking the button makes into the directory an empty file 'portable.ini' as a marker. After that the file Waker.txt is copied to the program directory from the so-called working directory (WinXP: Documents and Settings\\Application Data\ Hamlok\Waker2) or (Vista: Users\\AppData\Roaming\Hamlok\Waker2) The original mode may be restored by deleting the 'portable.ini' and moving the 'Waker.txt' from the program directory to the working directory. 2. Alarms or remainders Two kinds: according to weekdays or dates. The former are Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday Workdays Daily Today They are with the exception of Today recurrent. They are valid during 20 minutes beginning from the alarm time. Checking the box 'WD' the remainders will be valing during the whole day. Date alarms take place only once if the check box 'Every year' is not checked. They are valid during the whole day. Option 'Alerts' contains some usual alerts, which may be selected: -Birthday -Name Day -Wedding Day -Appointment -Meeting -Time Sync 'Time Sync' causes a regular time synchronization. Time server may be chosen in the pop-up menu 'Check Time'. The alarms are moved to the grid with . If it is question of a new alert, the button must be clicked before that. To edit an old alarm the date in the grid is clicked, which shows the alarm in the fields at the bottom of the Editor. After feeding the new and corrected alerts to the grid, they are saved by clicking . The alerts are saved into the text file 'Waker.txt'. It may be edited in the Editor or with any text editor, preferably with the Windows Notepad. The may be seen using an Office editor, but then the field must be widened to show the lines wholly. The following rules should be remembered: - each alarm is a line in the Editor - between the fields only one - to adjust the columns use spacebar In the Waker II Editor there is an option 'Check' and in the following special editor there is 'Edit' and in it 'Show and '. - Selecting it will show the alert lines and the as the marks '->' - To get the columns right the cursor should be put just after the '->' and adding spaces with the spacebar until the column is ok - At the end select 'Edit /Show without' and save with the option 'Save' - The corrections may be checked looking at them in the Editor and clicking the date, which shows the alert in the fields at the bottom of the Editor. 3.
