Small-scale industry ruin of Vaarala
(heating and air conditioning company VPH AIR OY)

Main door to VPH AIR OY.

History: Unclear at this moment.

Location: In Vaarala, which is a densely populated community of Vantaa city. Site is located on Tilustie.

Preliminary intelligence preview: Site was accidentally located by a member of FUE who was riding a bike in nearby woods.

Preliminary actions: non.

Expedition log and images: This was a great surprise. Site was found by an accident! Overgrown vegetation made picture taking very difficult and we were unable to take any big overall pictures from the house. The two level factory building size is about 30mx20m and there is also a cellar level. Almost all of the windows were boarded close but there was a access to inside from the back yard. Unfortunately, we were unable to take any pictures inside but we are planning a second trip with a better camera soon. This place, as almost everyone of the abandoned buildings, has suffered some damage made by the vandals.

This is the main door to the house. The door was nailed close as all of the windows in first floor. Small hole in the door is all what is left from the letterbox. One of the hatches to the cellar level can be seen left from the stairs. Strong scent of fungus raised from the hatch. There is also chives growing on the front of stairs.
This is a view from the front yard. Wooden flagpole and the overgrown plantings on the front yard hints that apparently this small-scale industry company was one degree closer to be bigger before all went down.
View from the south end. The strip to the cellar level is located below of this picture.
The back yard from the south corner. Loading platform is located on the left and this seems to be a small balcony. Maybe it was a part of caretakers residence?
The loading platform and way to inside. FUE will go in as soon as we will get good camera (something else than a H&P!).
The small shed located south end of the site. Apparently someone has tried to burn it down from the inside without success.
The north end of the building. Note the small crane and the telephone line still going in to the building.
The north end "in depth".
