Moscow metro

-         I have obviously no idea how this bird got here. I guess from some

ventilation shaft or something

sound of a train approaching and stopping at the station, people getting on and off talking, footsteps, the train leaves again

(inside the train):

-  and also you can encounter many, many illegal things ( train station announcement ‘BABUSHSKINSKAYA station’) in the Moscow metro, small things like illegal advertisements, illegal salesmen like people walking around selling toothbrushes or pants or ( train announcement in Russian, next station is ‘ SVIBLOVO’) whatever , illegal without any permission, what is a smaller thing.

I know that it sounds temptous, there are men, oh, very few people know about that, but there are people sitting on a bench for example at the Lubyanka station, there is a man sitting on a bench every day, almost every day, every week, all the time he is sitting there and if you come up to him and say like: ‘Do you have something for me? ‘, He can sell you some drugs or something.

in the station, Russian women are talking in the background:

- they see chandeliers in some stations….because very few people can imagine that there can be chandeliers in the subway

- I hate people in the Moscow metro, they are so gloomy. I guess because they take metro every day of their life. Everybody is reading books; those who are not reading are sleeping or sitting staring at one point.

- You know, there is nothing behind the window or the reflection on the train window is quite peculiar, distorts the shape, the face and every window makes it different, that’s quite funny

- I think we better change now

( in the station):

- huge, the city is huge and distances are very long…..and every day you take like one hour in the metro….you are getting crazy, you can become mad because of this noise
