Self-discovery
by Observation
As you know,
nothing affects us as much as the answer we give to the question:
"Who am I?"
For the first time, in 50 years of my life, LIFE
makes sense to me. At last, I see how "everything" fits
together. Until now, there was always a feeling, "If this fits
there and this fits here then where does this fit in?"
I would like to enjoy life to its fullest potential,
doing what ever needs to be done without hurting anyone or anything.
Don't you? If not, why not?
The real question is, "How can I practically achieve
this desire, to enjoy life to its fullest potential all the time, continuously?"
It is said, that where there is a will there is a way.
When the body, mind and soul create together, in harmony, there is no
limit to what we can experience. Our inner Being is the key to
that experience and our mind is the key to the first step towards
that experience.
If that is true, then what could be more important
in my life than to get into that harmony? And if enjoying life is the
most important thing in my life, then why am I not enjoying life? What
is the hindrance?

Master of All My Faculties
Basically, the usual hindrance to enjoying my life
is that I am not consciously the Master of my own life. My will is not
been done by all of my faculties. I am divided, disunited within.
But who is this "I" that would like to enjoy
life to its fullest potential? Is it the Mind, Ego, Soul or the body?
Or is it something else?
"Ah, who cares!" some might say, "As
long as I am enjoying my life and not at the expense of another being
or borrowing from my future time; like taking some substance, to enjoy
the present moment and then having hangover or some unpleasant after-effects
later."
I agree, but how do I enjoy the present moment all
the time, consistently?
True joy is experienced only when all aspects of me
are in harmony with the desires of my Soul, because it knows all and
its wishes are the best for me. I call my Soul or Spirit, the real me,
it is eternal or timeless. Or it could be called, God's representative
within me.
Unfortunately, most of the time, as most, I am so identified
with my own creation the Ego, or my mind, or my body, that I am not
even aware of my Soul's wishes, my deepest and the best desires.
I awoke one morning and I've noticed that I was not
happy and there was no objective reason for that. It was a day not much
different from the usual. But since I've been practicing observing my
thoughts for some time, I immediately realized that it was my thoughts
that where influencing my mood.
I have observed that my thoughts determine my moods
and when I control my thoughts I control my moods. When I think happy
thoughts I am happy.
What many people do not realize is that it is possible
to become a Master of your own thoughts and eventually of your own life.
It is not possible to become a Master of all your faculties without
getting your own thoughts under your own control first. I hope that
what follows will help you to make your life more enjoyable.
Law of Attraction
There is a Law that is called the Law of Attraction.
Like attracts Like. Thoughts attract thoughts of their own kind. Quantity
of particular thoughts produces corresponding feelings, moods and things.
Thoughts are things.
We are what we believe ourselves to be, in our innermost
being. We are the authors of our own life, Masters in it and not the
victims as we so often choose to think of ourselves. Have you not noticed
that we behave according to who we believe we are, in our deepest level
of our being?
Most of us unconsciously defining and redefining our
answer to the question; "Who I am?" And live our life
according to that definition.
Our every act is an act of self-definition, an announcement
and a demonstration of who we are. And this is what I am doing as I
am composing this WebSite, not only discovering what I've created myself
to be but also re-defining myself to what I would like to be.
I would like to share a little about me and few other
things, before going on to consider, how to experience what we consciously
want to experience; how to be conscious authors of our own life; consciously originating our own actions and circumstances. And not be as most, who
are unconscious authors of their own life.
Little
about me:
I am Wally (Vladimir) Kuskoff. I was born in China in 1951, the first
born of 9 children to Russian parents. I was 14 years old when immigrated
to Australia. Since 1983 I have been living in Finland and while living
in Finland I was a Christian Missionary to Russia for several years.
I've worked and studied in Australia, New Guinea, Philippines, USA
and Sweden. I've also visited many countries. I have two grownup daughters.
The main interest in my life has been to discover
the real meaning or the central purpose to life and to attain it. This
search has lead me to many parts of the world and to try out many things.
I've enjoyed some of the best of the teachings of Christianity but I
found that it was not the best way to look at reality, for me, for now.
I suppose it is "different strokes for different folks".
I wanted to make the most of the most important aspects
of life. This desire has lead me to investigate the best in Christianity
and it was the experience of the best of the Saints, who where mystics.
Then to my surprise I discovered that mystics of different
persuasions (religions) have experienced very similar perspectives of
reality through different approaches. So, if that is the case, then
what is the best approach for me?
As I searched, I found so much advice, so many opinions,
so many meaningful experiences, so many interesting supernatural phenomena
and so many books to so many secrets to so many things. I do not have
the time for them all.
Let's say, you were to ask for directions from many
people on how to get to some place or how to enjoy life. Some may give
you the right directions, others thought they were giving you the right
directions but were not, and others may have lied. Out of the right
directions, one of them would probably be easier to follow.
Then you might ask, "How would I know which one is
the right and the easiest? And how would I know if you are not deceived
yourself?"
Don't believe in anything. Not even what you read here.
Have your own experiences.
I recommend that, if what I am saying has the ring
of truth for you, then the best thing for you to do is to try it
out and see for yourself. That's what I would do, in a similar situation.
What is the truth?
Would you not agree with me, that the ultimate truth is:
- Nothing in my world is real, if I see it as an illusion.
- The meaning of everything is the meaning I give
it.
Don't I decide what something means to me?
- I am who I say I am, and my experience is what I
say it is.
Is there a better way to re-create myself anew?
I believe that Life should be enjoyable!
And it is enjoyable,
when I choose to be loving,
joyful, grateful, accepting and
blessing everyone and everything.
If you do not agree with me, then what is the reason?
Please share it with me.
What is the reality of who we are?
What is the truth of why we are here on earth?
Self-discovery
We are convinced more by the arguments,
that we ourselves have discovered,
than by those, that have been produce for us by others.
- Pascal
You cannot teach a man anything.
You can only help him
to discover it within himself.
- Galileo
These pages are self-discovery and re-creation. In
some similar way as an artist paints a picture because he takes delight
in that painting, because it is his self-expression, his glory, his
well-being his joy and satisfaction.
I do this not because I want anything from anyone,
but because I want to experience myself being the best I can be towards
everyone and everything. It would be great if you too could be the best
you can be, not for me but for yourself. For what ever you do for others,
you are doing for yourself.
I love, I care, I give . . . because I want to experience
myself as loving, caring, giving . . . and not because you are in need.
It is a revealing of my inner being. It is a re-creation of myself anew,
in the next grandest version of the greatest vision I ever held about
Who I Am.
Everything I do, I do for myself. For whatever I do
for others I do for me. Besides, it makes me happy to see others happy.
What goes around comes around.
My intention by this Site is also to be of HELP to
you, to solve your personal problems more efficiently through self-observation.
This Site is here to encourage you to discover who you really are; it
is here to comfort and to inspire you to enjoy life to its fullest.
I intend to express my truth the best way I know how,
sometimes using other peoples expressions and at other times giving
a link to the WebPages where I got the quotes from (but that does not
mean I agree with all of what the author has to say). It could just
mean that I like the way he expressed that idea. It is a way for me
to acknowledge my appreciation for his part in influencing my life for
the good.
All that is good here and is said well is mine, no
matter by whom it is said, first. And I'll be honored if you can make
my truths - yours, personally.
Everything in creation is moving and changing, including
my views. By the time you read this I may have changed my perspective
on that subject.
Realization
In February 12, 2002, after I been working on an article
for some days, on the subject of How to be the Master of Your Own Life,
I've realized that I have been told what to do all my life and I am
not in charge of my own life even as much as I thought I was.
First I was told by my parents what I am to do and
what to think, then by teachers, then the Bible became my Master/Teacher
and eventually, without realizing, I was basically looking for someone
to tell me what to do.
I have been a child and then a student all my life.
I was expecting to be told by someone what my purpose for life is; what
the truth is; and what I should do with my life and in my life.
Conversations with God books by Neale Donald Walsch
have helped me to realize that God does not want to order me around
or tell me what to do, then why should I let anyone else tell me what
to do? I should be the Master of my own life. Betrayal of myself in
order not to betray another was betrayal nonetheless. It was the highest
betrayal.
After the realization, I felt like I've been kicked
out of my nest, and I did not know what to do and there was no desire
to do anything.
Then I decided, that since I Am (that I exist), then
I'll rather enjoy my life, but I was so burdened with the baggage of
the past, that the question was, "How do I enjoy my life?"
I have come to conclusion that to be of most help to
myself, to others and to enjoy my own life to its fullest, I would need
to become a Master of myself.
The first step to mastery is to become aware of your
own thoughts. That is become conscious of the thoughts that influence
you experience. Then learn to use them for what you choose for yourself
to experience. So that eventually you have no involuntary or compulsory
thoughts.
While I was redefining myself from being a student
to a Master I needed to do something, so as not to be terrorized by
the habits of my mind.
Re-composing this Website gave me that opportunity.
Not only to discover what I've created myself to be; but also to re-define
myself to what I would like myself to be.
If we are the authors of our own life, Masters in it
and not the victims as we so often choose to think of ourselves.
Then our every act is an act of self-definition, an
announcement and a demonstration of who we are. Then Thoughts are things.
Because what we think, we create. What we create, we become. What we
become, we express. What we express, we experience. What we experience,
we are. What we are, we think. What we think, we create . . . and the
circle continues.
Then the purpose of my life should be to re-create
myself anew in each moment, in the next grandest version of the greatest
vision I ever held about Who I Am.
I hope that what follows will help us to make our life
more enjoyable and to become Masters of our own thoughts and eventually
of our own life. For where the majority of your thoughts lie, there
lies your destiny.
This Website is not to be read as a novel or a teaching
on some subject that is read and soon forgotten. It is a collection
of thoughts with some explanations on what to do in life and with life.
It is to be read and reread, so as to be reminded of the most important
aspects of life.
Here is something that I need
to hear again and again to be reminded that Life problems are not solved
by thinking:
Life problems
From time to time we all seem to try to solve our Life
problems by thinking and all that our thinking manages to do is to make
them bigger or more complicated. Unlike mathematical or technical problems,
our inner problems or Life problems can only be solved by Life (God).
Trust Life and watch how the problems will be solved or dissolved.
Do not resist or repress anything within you, if you
can't do it now then work toward that end, until you can just observe.
Consciously watching, being aware of all that is. Just let it be. Accept
what is. Do not judge it or disapprove of it.
No, I am not saying that you should be absolutely passive.
On the contrary, be as positively active as you desire. SMILE and observe
how your inner state changes and with it your whole life situation,
because you have let go and let Life take care of you.
Life problems are not solved by thinking. Thinking
is what created it in the first place. Thinking is the problem, particularly
the negative thinking. As you let go and observe, you will discover
that all things work together for your good. Life is on your side and
it knows what is best for you. Trust it.
Next, I would like invite you to consider with
me, how to be the authors of our own life - consciously; to be the originator
of our own actions and circumstances. To experience what we consciously
want to experience.

Quotations and links
to the WebSites that have been very helpful to me:
Conversations with
God books by Neale Donald Walsch. His books have influence me
so much that I've rewriten my website and I am still doing it. As
much as I've read, does not contradict my experience of life but it
did contradict a lot of my theology that I held for decades. His writings
help me to comprehend who I am and what my Creator could be like.
Mysticism in World
Religions - quotations drawn from literatures of six religions
- Judaism, Christianity, Islam/Sufism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Taoism.
Eckhart Tolle -
is not aligned with any particular religion or doctrine or guru; his
teaching embraces the heart, the essence, of all other traditions,
and contradicts none of them. He is able to do what all the great
masters have done: to show us, in simple and clear language, that
the way, the truth, and the light is within us. A state of enlightenment
is attainable, here and now. It is possible to live free of suffering,
free of anxiety and neurosis.
Barry Long His
teaching does not come from any tradition but from his own direct
experience of life. He said "I speak only of truth, love, life, death
and God"
Osho He led
his disciples on paths, which were philosophical, scientific, psycho-analytical
and religious.
