Here you can find a bit about what is happening in Silken scene here in Finland, and elsewhere too. 6th annual silken show will be held in Tuomarinkartano, Helsinki in August 11th 2007. The judge will be Arja Kettunen, kennel Neliapilan. Silkens will enter lure coursing competition as an unofficial breed in March 11th 2007. 2006 show results here. 5th annual silken show will be held in Tuomarinkartano, Helsinki in June 10th 2006. The judge will be Kimmo Saarinen, kennel Kimsar. 2005 show results here. 11/5/2004 little 10-week-old boy Timo, Eastern Extreme Wolkowo (Starcastle Hounds Silver Lining/Kristull Coco Chanel) moved to Helsinki, Finland from Slovenia. Welcome! 9/25/2004 three silkens entered an unofficial lure coursing competition in Hyvinkää. All three won their classes; youngster Kassu (Sarafias Asrai) won the big youngster class over 17 competitors with 262p, Teal'c (Kristull Texas Pinto) won the big adult class over 11 competitors with 255p and Nipsu ( Kristull Northern Lights) was the best veteran with 254p. PHOTOS!!! 8/25/2004 was born a new litter in Slovenia, kennel Wolkovo, 2 females + 5 males. These critters will have an FCI recognized pedigree. 8/15/2004 FSWC specialty, results here. 3/8/2004 one male puppy was born at kennel Sarafias. He will be Sarafias Bijan aka 'Vinski' and move to Joutseno to Tiina Timonen. 1/5/2004 Riinu was successfully mated with Teal'c in kennel Sarafias, let's follow what happens... ;) 12/21/2003 we had a fairly huge gathering in our 'own' place, the dog park in Luukki Espoo, present were 8 silkens and 2 borzois. Everybody had such a wonderful time that we decided to keep on meeting like that. Even the youngsters were a little bit tired I heard later. For a little while... ;)    Dec 2003: Kassu (Sarafias Asrai) appeared in a magazine with his borzoi buddy Remu and mom Minna when they were interviewed for the Finnish Borzoi Club magazine.   Oct 2003: first very unofficial and unformal coursing practise was held in Tuusula. It seems that the new generation is more than willing to course, let's keep on practising ;)   SILKEFEST 2003 in Finland June 28-29 2003    05/07/03 Yesterday was born the first finnish silken windhound litter for Salla Klemetti. The result was two boys and one girl, all very dark brindle with some white markings. Proud mom Alyssa has turned out to be a really good mom for the wee ones. 01/19/2003 Alyssa is showing small signs of heat, so if everything goes well we might have our first finnish silken litter in march-april.  NOTE!!! We have a new web address: http://www.silkkivinttikoira.net 10/6/2002 4 silkens took part in an unofficial lure coursing event with about 60 coursing sighthouds present. Riinu was best of large breed young ones with 153 points, Nipsu and Teal'c ran very even courses and tied the fourth place of the big open class with 198 points, Ali on her part did not want to part with her daddy Markus... ;-) Not too bad, next year we'll promise to go to training sessions first... ;-) 8/24/2002 The first European Silken Specialty in Angelniemi near Turku. 8/17/2002  You can see Silkens on the ringside at the Finnish Borzoi Club specialty in Tampere, at least 4 Silkens is planning to come. 7/27&28/2002 You can find Silkens on the ringside at Tammsvik show in Sweden. 6/26/2002  Puppy Tico(Starcastle Hounds Explorer) has moved to Finland from Sweden at the ageof 9 weeks. His proud new owner is Gunilla Fager in Kirkkonummi. Welcome Tico, and good luck for the future!
